Captain's profile: Kano Mathibe
Potchefstroom Boys High captain Kano Mathibe knows the pressure will be on against HTS Potchefstroom this weekend.
Potchefstroom Boys High beat their local rivals away last year, so HTS will be out for revenge when they make the trip across town for their FNB Classic Clash on Saturday.
The destructive loose forward came off the bench in that victory last year, and he is expecting a spirited performance in response from what will be a fired up HTS Potch side.
"This will be no walk in the park, they are a competitive side and they will pose a tough challenge," he said.
While Mathibe's side will have the crowd right behind them on their home turf, there is also plenty of pressure on them to deliver the goods.
"The pressure will be on because we can't disappoint, but we are feeling confident – it is a mind-set thing," he explained.
Potchefstroom Boys High's main strength is their imposing forward pack, and Mathibe expects them to dominate the opposition on Saturday.
"We have got a 300kg front row so we are confident of dominating up front. They have got a fast backline but our defence is good," he said.
Mathibe plans to move to Pretoria next year to study investment management at UP-Tuks, but for now his focus is on getting the job done on Saturday.
