Captain's profile: Kyle Brink

According to their captain Kyle Brink KES will look to run the ball against Jeppe on Saturday.

The hard-working lock who featured at Craven Week this year and has signed to play for the Lions next year believes that it is important for his side to stick to the game that has served them well so far this season.

"We like to run the ball from everywhere, our backline can be dangerous on attack and we like getting our forwards involved out wide as well, but we will still have to lay a solid platform in the scrums and line-outs," he said.

KES have enjoyed a good season, but frustrating losses to Pretoria Boys High and Affies still irk Brink and he is determined to come out on top in the FNB Classic Clash this weekend.

"We have had a few good matches this year but we have also let it slide a few times so we will have to be focused.

"It is never an easy game against Jeppe, especially over there. But we beat them quite easily last year and one of the wings who is playing on Saturday got four tries that day so we are feeling pretty confident," he explained.

Brink leads a team which includes nine Matrics, but he had only praise for the younger players in the side who he believes have stepped up well this year.

Next year Brink will study Commeece at UJ, and is hopeful of breaking into the Varsity Cup side whilst playing with the Lions as well.
