Captain's profile: Libhongo Geza
Despite beating Cambridge earlier this season, Hudson Park are fully aware that they face a mammoth challenge as they travel to Cambridge. Since the East London derby became an Classic Clash in 2011, the result has gone the way of the home side each time.
"The derby has always been a very competitive match, and it won't be any different this year. I expect a physical contest with a huge amount of intensity especially with them playing at home.
"But we are not strangers to pressure, we managed to beat Daniel Pienaar in Port Elizabeth [15-12] and Pearson at their home, so I am confident that the boys will produce a performance we can be proud of," Geza said.
Hudson Park have had an average season thus far. The side has been struggling with injuries which saw them struggle to break into the FNB Top 20.
"We have not had a good season thus far; I believe we could have been better especially when it comes to our second half performances. Furthermore, injuries have just disrupted our whole season.
"Some of the players are still carrying injuries heading into the Classic Clash which just adds pressure to the fairly young group of players," Geza added.
The No.8 has great rugby awareness, having been part of the first XV for two years and representing Border Under-18 Academy in 2016, the young man is always eager to learn. He is known for his resilience as a player and never-say-die attitude as a captain.
"Representing Border Academy was an enriching experience. I was taken out of my comfort zone, I had to learn to trust and lead new people – really one of my highlights. That experience really gave me the relevant tools to lead the Hudson Park side with honour and respect," he stated.
The matriculants future plans are to obtain a degree and further his rugby career.
