Captain's profile: Nikiwe Sekhibidu
Parktown captain and flyhalf Nikiwe Sekhibidu only started playing rugby two years ago but he is no stranger to the role of playmaker.
Sekhibidu also captain's the first soccer team at Parktown where he pulls the strings in midfield, and he rates that experience as valuable on the rugby pitch as well.
The multi-talented sportsman played hockey for the first two years of his high school career until a game of touch with his mates convinced him to give rugby a crack, which has worked out well for Parktown's rugby.
Sekhibidu, who made his first team debut last year, believes that his experience as captain of the soccer team has helped a lot in leading the rugby side as well.
"It helps a lot as you learn how to handle different egos. It is difficult to balance my roles as captain and commander of both teams as well," he said.
The first team has not beaten St Johns since Sekhibidu has been at Parktown, and he believes the key on Saturday will be keeping their discipline.
"They always seem to get in our heads and chip away at us until we give away yellow cards, so we have to remain patient and if we keep our patience then I'm sure we can pull it through," he said.
The Parktown captain believes that the key on Saturday will be to move the hefty St Johns forward pack around in order to allow his exciting backline to thrive.
"I pride myself on my tactical kicking and we are quite a mobile team, so hopefully we can move the ball around and cause them some problems," he said.
