Captain's profile: Pierre le Roux
Hangklip captain Pierre le Roux will be looking to lead from the front when his team face Aliwal-Noord on home soil in their FNB Classic Clash.
The hard-working loose forward usually plays on the flank, bit will start at No.8 on Saturday and he intends to make his actions speak for themselves out on the pitch.
"It is difficult to motivate people with words – you literally have to show them the way," he explained.
Le Roux is in Grade 11 this year and has captained every team that he has played for at Hangklip, although he admitted that it was quite tough to ge the support of the five Matrics in the team at the start of the season.
"At the start it was quite difficult as the Matrics did not want to listen to me, but I did not take any nonsense and it got easier and now we work together quite well," he said.
Hangklip have had a tough time of it this season, winning just two out of their seven matches so far, but Le Roux's team are feeling quite confident after putting in some hard work on the training pitch during the holidays.
"We are feeling confident, we have worked hard and we are playing at home so we are not going to stand back for them at all," he said.
The last time that Hangklip beat Aliwal-Noord was in 2010, and in order to repeat that performance the hard work will start up front.
"We want to take them on in the forwards early on and then once they are tired we will give it to our backline which is quite fast," said Le Roux.
The Hangklip skipper is expecting a full house with plenty of support on Saturday as his team look to turn the tables on their rivals.
