Captain's Profile: Ralph van Vuuren
HS Florida will be looking to maintain their strangle hold over HS Marais Viljoen when the schools come to blows in a Classic Clash on Saturday.
Florida are yet to taste defeat at the hands of their rivals and captain Ralph van Vuuren believes their hard work will once again pay off despite the team not reaching their full potential yet.
"We have not lost to them in a very long time and we will be looking to continue that trend on Saturday. Our season has been decent but I think we have not reached our full potential as a team yet.
"Unfortunately we are missing a few players through injury but the players who are fit, can certainly do the job as we expect Marais Viljoen to bring a hard, physical game to us," he said.
The 18-year-old Grade 12 pupil, who has Under-16 Academy Week experience as well as being selected for the Mauritius Sevens team, believes that hard work pays off and that one should never stop working hard.
"Being named captain is a great honour and accomplishment that I am really proud of and I believe that my ability to convince others about my reasoning for decisions is what sets me apart from the rest.
"We need to make sure we play until the bitter end on Saturday and that if we fall down seven times, we must get up eight times," he added.
The outside centre is yet to make definite plans about life after school but one thing is for sure – he will live every day as if it might be his last.
