Captain's Profile: Raymond Yssel
HS Zwartkop head into their Classic Clash against HS Eldoraigne as the clear underdogs who are hoping to effect an upset over their more-fancied opponents.
It has been a fairly indifferent season for Raymond Yssel and his troops but the captain knows if they can eliminate basic errors from their game, they will be highly successful.
"We play some very good rugby but let ourselves down when we make simple errors which costs us the match but it has not been all negative because we have managed to pick up a few wins along the way.
"We know we are the underdogs heading into the match because we have lost to them in the past but what they must not forget is that we have managed to beat them as well before.
"We will head into the match with a well-balanced team consisting of Grade 11 and 12 pupils. Unfortunately we have one serious injury that has ruled the player out of the match but the guy coming in for him plays just as hard, so it is not much of a change for us," he said.
The 17-year-old Grade 12 pupil has been part of the first XV for two years and wishes his team remains positive, regardless of what is happening, by providing them with the support they need.
"I feel like I am there to keep the team together for the duration of the match and to lead them by setting a positive example for everyone to follow. I will ensure my team remains fully motivated and always have a positive mindset and attitude.
"We need to switch on during practices and give it our all so that we can implement the intensity in the match on Saturday – which we will not be taking lightly," he added.
The No.8 is hoping to continue his studies and wants to study Mechanical Engineering from 2016.
