Captain's profile: Reynard Rall
Although Klerksdorp are sure to provide a big challenge, Lichtenburg captain Reynard Rall is feeling quietly confident ahead of their FNB Classic Clash.
The nippy scrumhalf leads a side with just five Matrics in the starting line-up, but after a morale-boosting win over Potch Gimmies he is hoping to cause an upset when they travel to Klerksdorp on Saturday.
Rall, who models his game on the Bulls' Jano Vermaak, believes that scrumhalf is the perfect position for a captain as he can communicate effectively with both forwards and backs, and he is planning on playing a leading role this weekend.
Although Klerksdorp got the better of his side last year and boast a powerful forward pack, Rall is still confident that his team can pull this one off.
"They have got a few big players so it will be a big test for our forwards but we are feeling goo because we have trained hard," he said.
Rall said that the key for his team will be to play with width and force the big Klerksdorp forwards to run as much as possible.
"We want to play it wide to tire them out so hopefully we can play some good running rugby," he said.
The Lichtenburg skipper knows that his relatively inexperienced side will be up against it away from home, but he is adamant that they will not shy away from the challenge.
"It is always tough playing away and we know it is going to be a big one but if we work hard then we can do it," he explained.
