Captain's profile: Roland Swart

Hawston captain Roland Swart will need all of his experience when he leads an inexperienced team out against Hermanus on Saturday.

The hard-running inside centre has played in the first team for four years now, but is one of only five Matrics in the team so his leadership will be crucial in the FNB Classic Clash this weekend.

Although there are a few young players in the team, the Hawston skipper believes that they have added positively to the side which he believes is stronger than last year.

Having lost away from home last year Hawston are determined to set things straight on home turf, but Swart knows that it will take a big effort from his side to claim the spoils.

The physical midfielder who models his game on All Black powerhouse Sonny Bill Williams has targeted a backline assault as key to victory on Saturday.

"We want to run the ball, that is our strength so we will try and take it wide," he said.

However, Swart knows that his forwards will also have to play their part if they are to emerge victorious on home soil.

"We will need to show some power up front to match their pack if we want to win," he said.
