Captain's profile: Sango Xamlashe
Selborne ended a three-year Grey winning streak when they edged their foes 22-18 in Port Elizabeth in 2015 and it is now up to Xamlashe to lead his side to what will be another famous win.
Both schools are inside the Top 20. Grey find themselves in ninth while Selborne's recent victory over Dale saw them leap into sixth place overall.
"The teams are deadlocked on 31 wins each out of 65 games played but I feel that we have the upper hand due to our 2015 Classic Clash victory and that is something that we want to keep because the rivalry between the schools is that big.
"We know it is going to be a tough encounter and we expect them to approach the match with a tactical game plan. All we need to do is ensure that we play for the black-and-white," Xamlashe said.
The matriculant has been a regular in Border's Under-18 Craven Week side, after being included in both the 2015 and 2016 teams. While the experience of playing at the prestigious competition is something every player enjoys, Xamlashe was not pleased with his personal performance.
"My first Craven Week was not that great but my second one went a lot better. Although I feel that I was far from my best and it was unfortunate that I had to have a poor run during that period," he added.
Despite having played in two Craven Weeks, the inside centre still considers representing his first XV as the highlight of his short career.
"My first XV experience has been nothing but the best. I learnt a lot in my junior year and have taken those lessons through into my senior season. That is why I cherish every chance I get to run out onto the field to represent Selborne.
"Part of that pride is joining a long list of legend who have had the chance to captain the first XV," he stated.
The season as a whole may not have gone the way they would have wanted but they have winning momentum at the moment and bodes well for this young team, who will be at full strength for the encounter.
