Captain's profile: Selvyn Davids

Nico Malan skipper Selvyn Davids is a prolific points-scorer with a bright future.

Davids plays on the left wing and forms a key cog in Nico Malan’s attack. The fleet-footed flyer is also a reliable goal-kicker and has scored no less than 150 points in 13 matches this year, which includes 14 tries, 31 conversions and six penalties.

He has excelled at all levels, representing Eastern Province at Under-12, Under-13, Under-16 and Under-18 level. In 2010, he was selected for the South African Under-16 Elite squad and after excelling at this year’s Craven Week, he was included in the South African Under-18 training squad.

Davids’s biggest asset is his ability to step off both feet. This, coupled with his blistering pace and accurate boot, make Davids a potential start of the future.
