Captain's profile: Wandile Mazibuko
After playing in both draws against Maritzburg College last year, Glenwood captain Wandile Mazibuko is determined to get his team over the line this weekend.
Mazibuko, who moved from lock to flank this year, was one of nine Glenwood boys named in the KZN Craven Week team this week, and he said that the news has given his side a big boost ahead of their FNB Classic Clash.
"The boys are stoked, training has been good this week so we are looking forward to it," he said.
The Glenwood skipper expects a massive effort from College on Saturday, but is confident that his team can handle whatever is thrown at them.
"It is their 150th so they will come out firing. We watched their game against KES last week and they have a couple of big runners but we are up for the challenge," he explained.
Mazibuko said that his team will look to run the ball as much as possible to tire their imposing opposition out.
"We are quite a fit side, so we will try and run the ball and hopefully we can take them in the second half," he said.
The hard-working flank has been happy with his side's efforts so far this season, but he knows that they will be seriously tested in what he describes as "one of the biggest games of the year".
With the confidence gained from their impressive Craven Week showing, Mazibuko and his team believe they have what it takes to erase the disappointment of drawing with college twice last year.
