Dan Pienaar captain - Duan du Plessis

Duan du Plessis know his young team will be up against it in their FNB Classic Clash against Die Brandwag.

Daniel Pienaar boasts a large selection of grade elevens in their starting line up, including captain Du Plessis.

Although the majority of the team is a year younger it does in no ways mean they will be bossed around up front.

Du Plessis weighs in at an imposing 95kg's as a flank and the rest of the forward pack are just as large – Daniel Pienaar pride themselves on their bustling forwards.

"Our team is very young – 10 players are in Grade 11 and only five boys are Matric," the captain said when describing his team.

"We have a strong forward pack and enough ammunition to fire at the back.

"All our players are fit and injury free for Saturday’s game and totally motivated to play a good game."

Even though du Plessis is a youngster in the team he still tries to lead by example.

"If things are going to get tough I can motivate them [the players] to get their act together," he added.

"I also try to lead by example."

Du Plessis, who played in the Grant Khomo week last year, is expecting the Brandwag to come at them hard.

"I expect out opposition to be physical and to come at us head on from the first moment," the captain said about their rivals.

After this young captain is finished with school he has aspirations to remain with rugby, hopefully ascending to the highest level – to play for the Springboks.
