Darryn Lentoor - Captain of Adelaide
Player Profile
Darryn Lentoor is the captain of Adelaide Gimnasium who play on Saturday their big Interschools – against Winterberg Landbou 37 km down the road to the east – an FNB Classic Clash.
Darryn, from Queenstown, moved from Maria Louw Primary in Queenstown to Adelaide Gim when he went into St 6 (Grade 8). Then he started playing rugby, first as an eighthman, now as an inside centre. According to his coach, Terence Morgan, he is a centre in the De Wet Barry mould. He is strong in the tackle and a good handler of the ball.
Darryn is in his third year in the 1st XV, his first as captain. He enjoys being the captain and passing on what he knows to his team.
He thinks he has a good, well-balanced side – a powerful pack of forwards with quick backs. For them all the Interschools with Winterberg is the bog match of the year.
His mother and father will be across from Queenstown for the match which will have the usual festivities of an Interschools with singing and ceremonies.
Darryn Lentoor was born in Queenstown on 31 January 1986. He has no immediate plans but would like to study and play rugby next year.
