Daunting task await Wynberg

Fresh from a 20-19 win against Selborne College at the Cape Schools Festival, Wynberg head into the encounter with a glimpse of hope.

However, the odds are truly stacked against the Southern Suburb school when their meet a Paarl Gim side ranked sixth on the Schools Top20

Furthermore, the Paarl side would be eager to secure a victory especially after their 15-24 defeat against Boland Landbou before the Youth week break.  

A win for Paarl Gim would also serve as good momentum ahead of their Interschools clash against Paarl Boys’ high next week.

Paarl Gim not only have the home ground advantage, the side also have the services of provincial players which include captain and star player Muller du Plessis.

Du Plessis played in the SA school last year and represented WP Craven Week this year.

This season, Paarl Gim have won 10 of their 13 fixtures, while Wynberg have won seven of their 15 matches.

Paarl Gim have played seven sides ranked in the Top 20, Wynberg have faced six.
