Die Burger competition on the way

The representatives of schools in four provinces will meet in semifinals  to be followed by finals on 1 September 2012.

The four provinces are in the Burger's catchments area – South Western Districts, Eastern Province, Western Province and Boland.

The schools are divided into categories by size, rather like their northern counterparts in the Beeldtrofee. But in the Burger there are only three categories – Big, Medium and Small.

The teams from Western Province and Boland will play each other on 22 August and so will the teams from South Western Districts and Eastern Province on 18 August.

South Western Districts: Outeniqua

Eastern Province: Daniël Pienaar

Medium Schools

Boland: To be decided by a match between Augsburg and New Orleans

South Western Districts: Punt, Langenhoven Gimnasium or Oudtshoorn

Eastern Province: Die Brandwag or Nico Malan

Small Schools

Western Province: Excelsior or Bellville-Suid

Boland: To be decided by two matches – Dirkie Uys vs Hawston and Groendal vs Langeberg
