Durbanville's Rugby Festival
Some from afar
Hoërskool Durbanville are kicking off April with their second rugby festival with some teams that have come from afar.
Go down the N1 from Cape Town and just after Bellville there is Durbanville – named after Sir Benjamin D'Urban but a long way from the city on the KwaZulu Natal Coast. (Good wine at Durbanville Hills, should anybody fancy it.)
The Festival has matches on three days – 1 April, 3 April and 5 April.
Fixtures have been drawn up for 1 April. The matches for the Monday will be drawn up after Saturday's matches, Wednesday's after Monday's matches.
Several of the schools have come from afar – Felixton College which is near Empangeni in Zululand, Gelofte (Pinetown), Voortrekker (Pietermaritzburg), Duineveld (Upington), Bastion on the border between Krugersdorp and Roodepoort, Sand du Plessis (Bloemfontein). Retief (Kestell in the Free State), St Peter's (Johannesburg), Van Riebeeckpark (Kempton Park), Onverwacht (Cullinan) and Grey (Bloemfontein).
