Eddie Rululu - captain of Ndzondelelo

Player Profile

Eddie Rululu is the captain of Ndzondelelo High School of Zwide Township in Port Elizabeth, and they are playing great rivals Itembelihle Comprehensive School of Kwazakhele in New Brighton.

Eddie plays fullback – or flyhalf, for he is a versatile, particularly quick player, according to rugby master Dan Ngcabe who has been at the school for many, many years and has done much for its rugby. He is his team's goal-kicker.

Eddie's father played club rugby for African Bombers and provincial rugby for KWARU, which means that Eddie himself comes out of a rugby environment. He has been playing for five years, since he went to Ndzondelelo in 2001.

He believes that his side this year will win against Itembelihle, for his side is a well-balanced, fit one with lots of speed. He was in the side last year when they beat Itembelihle 8-6 in the FNB Classic Clash. This year they won the Night Series when they beat Bertram 15-12 in the final.

Eddie Thembmkosi Rululu was born in Port Elizabeth on 2 August 1988. He is in matric this year, the captain of Ndzondelelo and of his club side Young Collegians. Next year he hopes to go to Vista University and continue with his rugby career there.
