Florida win Classic Clash

In an FNB Classic Clash played at Florida High School on Saturday, the home side beat Marais Viljoen High School of Alberton 31-12. The report is from Florida.

The game started at a great pace with both teams fired up for the game. Florida's right wing Ralph van Vuuren scored two great tries to give Florida a 12-0 lead early in the game. Marais Viljoen picked up their defence and managed to keep Florida from scoring for the rest of the half.

Just after half time replacement wing Justin Bhana rounded for another try. Ashley Lindewal showed his class breaking through the midfield and scoring soon after to take the score to 24-0. Marais Viljoen showed they were not done and scored two tries. Florida's defence was solid keeping Marais Viljoen's attack out for the rest of the half. With time almost up Preston Karstens sprinted out of his own half to end the scoring.

Ashley Lindewal, Preston Karstens, Justin Bhana and Ralton October showed why they are included in the trail Craven Week side with October dictating the game with his boot and attacking skills.  

Florida dominated at scrum  time where a special mention must go to Henré Saaiman and Rudolf Koekemoer with Reno Pottas and Koos Bekker working tirelessly in the loose.  

In the opposition side centre Damian Diederiks impressed me with great defence and carrying the ball up strongly.
