FNB Top 20 - 25 April

Tough at the top

It's tough at the top all right, and it has affected the FNB Top 20 this week in a big way.

Of the top four sides on the FNB Top 20, Grey Bloem, drew and Monnas and Grey PE lost.

Trying to place the top eight sides really is exhausting, as a small result can have a large effect, because those top eight sides are so close.

It is also tight between 11 and 18, which again makes for big movements on a smallish result.

As a result of all of this Outeniqua move up a place, Grey Bloem down a place. Affies go up five places after their big win over HTS Middelburg, and Pretoria Boys, Paul Roos and Waterkloof each move up a place which leaves Monnas and Grey PE dropping what looks like a long way but is not in reality.

Paarl Gim and Boland Landbou each move up a place while DHS move up three places after their win over Glenwood in Umbilo.

Queen's are the big movers, coming up five places after their win over Grey PE.

Jim Fouché of Bloemfontein's strong pack have moved them up three places with the promise of more to come.

Westville, who have not played as much as other schools but who have had two good wins over Pretoria Boys and Hilton, get a toe on the ladder.

Eldoraigne, slayers of Monnas, come onto the list of candidates for promotion to the FNB Top 20 proper.
