Geared for Wildeklawer
All is ready for the 2013 Wildeklawer Super Schools Tournament, the fifth year of this top tournament.
This year's tournament shifts from Kimberley to Pietermaritzburg, from Diamantveld to Maritzburg College where it is part of the great school's 150th birthday celebrations.
There are two new schools this year – Grey High School of Port Elizabeth and Noord-Kaap of Kimberley. The schools taking part are Affies of Pretoria, Boland Landbou of Paarl, Diamantveld of Kimberley, Dr EG Jansen of Boksburg, Drostdy of Virginia, Framesby of Port Elizabeth, Glenwood of Durban, Grey College of Bloemfontein, Grey High of Port Elizabeth, hosts Maritzburg College, Monument of Krugersdorp, Noord-Kaap of Kimberley, Oakdale of Riversdale, Outeniqua of George, Paarl Boys' High and Paarl Gim, Paul Roos of Stellenbosch and Waterkloof of Pretoria
There are two other invitation teams taking part – the Wildeklawer XV, really the Harmony Sports School of Virginia in the Free State, and the Sharks XV, a development XV.
The matches will take place on Thursday,: May, and Saturday,: May.
According to Basjan Reinhardt, who has had so much to do with organising the Wildeklawer Tournament, six of Saturday's matches will be televised and broadcast live. Other matches will be incorporated into magazine programmes.
Apart from 1st XVs there are also Under-16, Under-15 and Under-14 teams.
