Gill prove too much for Cradock
A second-half blitz helped Gill College thrash Hoërskool Cradock 44-0 in their Classic Clash in Somerset East on Saturday.
It was Gill's third win in a row against Cradock after they won their previous two clashes in enemy territory in 2013 and 2014.
The atmosphere at the game was like any other interschool game, learners singing and cheering on their team.
The first half was very close with both teams playing hard and defensive rugby. The away team were dealt a massive blow just before half-time when their scrumhalf and No.8 had a bad injury and had to leave the field.
At half-time the home team were only leading 5-0.
The second half started as the first did with hard rugby been played and big tackles been made.
The mounting injury count eventually proved too much for Cradock and with Gill playing brilliant rugby the floodgates burst open and the home side were comfortable winners in the end.
