Good win for Noord-Kaap

At Hoërskool Fichardtpark’s Rugby Day in Bloemfontein on Saturday, Noord-Kaap of Kimberley beat Voortrekker of Bethlehem 33-7.

It is an impressive start for Noord-Kaap, who ended ranked seventh on the FNB Top 20 in 2011, and suggests that they will again be a strong side this year.

After a cautious start Noord-Kaap ran in four tries.

The scorers were left wing Dimitrio Tieties, hooker Xander Jonck, flank Lehan Muller and replacement wing Charlton Koopman. Noord-Kaap was also awarded a penalty try.

Tieties succeeded with two penalties and one conversion.
