Graeme go down to Grey
The game had been moved to the Wednesday to accommodate the players that would take part in the Eastern Province rugby trials on Saturday.
Graeme always knew that it was going to be a tough challenge as Grey had come off two good wins against Paul Roos and Wynberg Boys’ High. This however did not discourage the Graeme team as they put in a performance that everyone associated to the school can be proud of.
In between a few mistakes Graeme played some magnificent rugby that meant they dominated large parts of the game.
At half time they trailed by 12-8 as Grey were fortunate to score an intercept try. Graeme scored a try through flank Mhlangabezi Ntwanambi and flyhalf Sivuyisiwe Ngqiyaza Ngqiyaza kicked a penalty for Graeme’s points.
Graeme scored a try through Ngqiyaza to take the lead 15-12 early in the 2 nd half. Grey fought back and ended up winning the game 22-15.
In what turned out to be a great contest Graeme will walk away proud but also thinking they missed a great opportunity as they seemed to have the ascendency for most of the game.
