Great match at Framesby
Nico Malan of Humansdorp went up to Port Elizabeth to face Framesby in an FNB Classic Clash which doubled as qualification match for the semifinals of the Burger's competition within the four southern provinces. It was a thrilling match which the home side won 35-20.
It was a demanding match in the strong Framesby eight's driving play put pressure on Nico Malan and laid the foundation for the victory. The pressure produced penalties in Framesby's favours and their goal-kicker was in excellent form.
The fast Nico Malan backs managed to get several moves going and their outstanding wing Sevin Davids scored all 20 of the visitors' points including both tries. His second try was outstanding as he sped, swerved and sidestepped to the posts. Losing their fullback Tremayne de Jager inside 10 minutes made life tough for Nico Malan.
Prop Bart le Roux, who battled ion the scrums, was outstanding in general play and scored two tries in the first half. Divo Welgemoed's last-minute try and conversion may have given his side a somewhat flattering score.
It was a great game for the big crowd.
