Grey Blues too good for Muir
A physical encounter for both Muir and Grey Blues took place on a superb winter's morning in Port Elizabeth and saw the Grey Blues ran out winners 28-15. The Muir side trailed narrowly 10-18 at the break.
The Grey Blues ran in two tries, taking the lead after hard work by their forwards to create space out wide for their backs to cross the line. The Muir side settled down and from a well-worked set phase play right wing Mihlali Mosi dotted down in the corner. This try spurred the Muir side on and after some individual brilliance flyhalf Yomelela Keswa scored the team's second of the half. The Grey Blues flyhalf had his kicking boots on and extended their teams lead through some penalties.
The second half was a bit scrappy with both teams making numerous handling errors and blundering opportunities that come their way. The last few minutes saw both teams settle down and play to their strengths. A sloppy pass saw an intercept try from the Grey Blues to further extend their lead. The College dug deep to put phases together putting the Blues on the back foot. This gave the Muir back an opportunity to attack the line and left wing Sicelo Tole was rewarded with a try.
Flank Caleb Daniel had a stand-out game on defence catching the opposition behind the gain-line numerous times. He also created a few turnovers and giving the Muir side a platform to attack from.
