Grey captain - Alex Jonker
Grey College skipper Alex Jonker knows that his team will have their work cut out for them in their FNB Classic Clash against Affies in Pretoria.
Grey have yet to lose a game this season and currently sit on top of the FNB Top 20, and they will face an Affies team that has won just two of their seven matches this year, but all-action No.8 Jonker insists the visitors will be taking nothing for granted.
Affies have beaten Grey in their last two meetings, and the memory of their defeat at home last year will be at the forefront of their minds as they look to turn the tables up in Pretoria.
"We are expecting a tough, hard, and physical game. Playing Affies is a traditional interschool and although their season has not kicked off to a good start, anything can happen on game day, so we will prepare ourselves with that in mind," said Jonker.
The hard-working loose forward who says his stregths are "running into space and making good decisions", said that a tough schedule has taken its toll with some key injuries.
"It has been a tough season thus far. We played many games in a short amount of time, but still we are undefeated.
"The team is struggling with a few injuries, but with or without those injured players, we play as a team," he said.
Jonker has played at provincial level since the Under-13 Craven Week in 2009 and plans to play rugby after school while furthering his studies, but this weekend his focus is on adding another victory to the 26 that Grey have earned against Affies in their 36 previous encounters.
