Grey Descend on Selborne

Grey College of Bloemfontein drop down from the Highveld to the warm East London coast to play Selborne College.

It has become an annual fixture since 1996, one largely dominated by Grey.

Season So Far

Grey, perennially South Africa’s top rugby school, look as formidable as ever this year, They have played and won six matches, amassing 349 points at an average of just under 60 per match.

They beat Welkom Gim 29-0, Menlopark 59-28, Garsfontein 53-30, two New Zealand schools Southland Boys’ High 54-0 and Christchurch Boys’ High 73-26, and most recently HTS Middelburg 81-8.

Selborne dominated the Border side at last year’s Craven Week but only two are back playing this year – Jacques Goosen and Mntungwa Mapantsela.
