Grey in record win
Match report
There was no repeat of 2004 when Grey played Selborne in Port Elizabeth. This time Grey won 62-3, scoring nine tries.
This is a record score for matches between the two great schools. The previous highest was 50-6 when Selborne won in 1994.
In 2004 Grey were unbeaten when they went up to East London and came unstuck.
Selborne, who have some surprising victories over strong schools under this year's belt, were not giant-killers on this occasion.
Big wing Peter Furstenburg scored a hat-trick of tries in a brilliant display of power. It was a match in which every Grey contributed with skill and effort. They were glad to have their energetic hooker David Wannenburg back and there were great contributions from scrumhalf Marlin Ruiters and lock Morné van der Westhuyzen.
