Grey result summaries, Day 2
Again there were tense encounters between strong sides at the Grey Rugby Festival in Port Elizabeth. It was the second day of the festival on Monday, 26 March.

Match: Dale College 22 (15) vs Die Brandwag 5 (5)
Dale pulled off a convincing victory over a tough Brandwag side. These evenly matched sides tried to run the ball wide when they got the opportunity and it was Dale who made fewer errors on the day and deserved their win.

With both teams scoring three tries, SACS triumphed due to some successful kicks from Chris Smith. Smith scored 13 points with the boot to add to the twelve points he scored against Grey on Saturday. SACS captain, Cameron Calder, at scrumhalf lead by example with two tries.

Match: Paul Roos 30 (15) vs Kearsney College 20 (14)
Paul Roos put 30 points on the board for the second time in the festival. Kearsney to their credit, were not intimidated and played their part in an entertaining match. Paul Roos’ Dalin Goliath, recorded yet another two tries to take his total to four in the festival.

In what was probably the best individual performance of the festival so far, the Queen’s flyhalf Joshua Stander scored all his teams points in a convincing 25-6 win over Hilton College. Stander was impressive in all facets of play and is worth keeping an eye on in the future.

Match: Bishops 18 (10) vs Maritzburg College 35 (15)
Maritzburg College proved to be messy but effective as they ground out a 35 -18 victory over Bishops.

Despite falling behind 7- 0 early in the game, Grey gained in confidence and controlled the game from there on.
Both sides gave everything in this physical, bruising encounter. Scoring four tries to the three of Marlow, Grey won comfortable thanks also to the reliable boot of Alex Banfield who slotted anything in his range.

Nico Malan wing Selvyn Davids scored two tries to take his tally up to four tries in the festival, but it was not enough as Michaelhouse won a tough encounter 28 -22. Michaelhouse centre Michael Mvelase contributed 18 points which included two tries.
