Wednesday 27 Jun 2012

This year's final of the Junior World Trophy, being played in Salt Lake City, Utah, is between Japan and the USA. It is Japan's third successive final.

It may be 'third time lucky' after they lost 36-7 to Italy in 2010 and 31-24 to Samoa last year.

The final pool round took place on Tuesday. The USA beat Russia 36-13 to reach the final, while Japan beat Georgia 36-29. Both countries ended unbeaten in pool matches.

Pool results:

Pool A

USA vs Russia, 36-13

USA vs Tonga, 22-11

USA vs Chile, 54-25

Tonga vs Russia, 62-7

Tonga vs Chile, 41-14
