Kasselsvlei captain - Colwyn Manchest
Kasselsvlei have yet to lose a game this season, and their captain Colwyn Manchest intends keeping it that way when they face Bellville South on Saturday.
Kasselsvlei went down to their rivals in the Classic Clash last year, so Manchest does not have to do much motivating this week as they look to turn the tables this weekend.
The burly hooker who weighs 89kn and stands 1.76m tall has played for the first team at Kasselsvlei for two years now and was 'proud and absolutely elated' to be named captain this year.
He knows that Bellville South will prove a massive challenge in their Classic Clash, but insists that his side are well prepared for what is always a hard-fought battle.
"They are going to come at us hard, but we are ready. We lost last year but we have every intention of turning the tables," he said.
Manchest's team has a good blend of youth and experience, with half of the side playing in their very first Classic Clash.
"My message to the team this week was to stay focused and play for one another. As captain I need to lead by example," he said.
Manchest played for the Coca-Cola Under-19 side at the Wildeklawer schools festival this year, which he describes as an 'interesting and challenging experience', and he hopes to continue playing rugby once he matriculates this year.
However, this week he is fully focused on doing whatever it takes to get one over on their rivals Bellville South.
