KES win FNB Classic Clash
Match Report
KES went over to Jeppe for the first FNB Classic Clash of 2006 and won 31-0.
KES comfortably overcame local rivals Jeppe in a match played in wet conditions at Jeppe on Saturday. KES produced a much-improved performance after their disappointing loss to Pretoria Boys High the week before. Jeppe will be extremely disappointed with the result as before the game they were confident of causing an upset.
KES dominated the loose and showed the better handling and decision-making skills in the difficult conditions. That said, KES did also miss quite a number of good try-scoring opportunities. Jeppe competed well in the scrums and rucks and battled manfully right up until the final whistle. The wet conditions and poor surface may have negated their quick backline but their performance on the day can only be described as poor.
KES look forward now the their Annual Easter Festival from 13-17 April where they play Graeme College, Grey High and Hilton.
Jeppe are attending KES festival as well and will play Rondebosch Boys' High, Hilton and St. Andrew’s School (Bloem).
