Landbou vs Landbou in Riversdale
It's a great occasion when Oakdale of Riversdale meet Marlow of Cradock, as they do in an FNB Classic Clash in Riversdale on Saturday, 2 August 2014.
The two schools get on well together. The two staffs also find these occasions opportunities for fun. When Oakdale go to Cradock, Marlow takes the staff on a hunt; when, as is the case this week, Marlow go down to Riversdale, Oakdale takes the staff fishing on the Friday. No scores are kept on such occasions!
Both are small schools, both have farms and the boys tend to be farm boys. It is easy for them to get on. Both are rugby enthusiasts and so the 11 matches this Saturday will be keenly contested and the 1st XV match will – as always – determine the winner.
The last time the Wolramme came to Riversdale, they lost 39-10 and last year they lost 14-9 at home. Victory this Saturday could make their season.
Season so Far
Both schools travel far for their rugby and both tend to play against strong opposition.
Marlow have played 15 matches, winning seven, losing eight – not quite as good as it usually is. Oakdale have played 12, winning nine and losing three.
Both sides lost last Saturday – Marlow to St Andrew's and Oakdale to Paul Roos.
