@lantic Sevens move to George
The fifth tournament in the popular @lantic 7s series for high schools takes place on Saturday, 3 March at Saasveld Forestry College in George.
During the past five years more than a thousand teams have participated in the @lantic series.
According to Willem Strauss, the tournament promoter, the @lantic provincial Under-18 Sevens tournament will take place again this year.
He said: “The introduction of the provincial Under-18 tournament for Sevens has added status to the sport at schools.”
Oudtshoorn Hoërskool last year’s winners will defend their title against amongst others Tygerberg, the national @lantic Sevens champions.
Oudtshoorn provided a surprise last year when they eventually went through to the final of the Champions tournament against the same Tygerberg.
The first match kicks-off on Saturday at 08.30 with the Cup Final being played at 16.30.
The participating schools are: PW Botha Kollege, Hoërskool Outeniqua, Pacaltsdorp Sekondêr, Groot Brakrivier Sekondêr, Parkdene Sekondêr, Hoërskool Oudtshoorn, Hoërskool Uniondale, Haarlem Sekondêr, Oakdale, Gerrit du Plessis Sekondêr, Kairos Sekondêr, Bridgton Sekondêr, Morestêr Sekondêr, George Hoërskool and Hoërskool Tygerberg.
