Lwandile Dabalele - Captain of Itembelihle

It is always a tight encounter when Itembelihle take on Ndzondelelo and captain Lwandile Dabalele is expecting another tough FNB Classic Clashes contest this weekend.

Although Itembelihle have got the better of their rivals every year since 2005 there has never been many points to seperate the teams and Dabelele says there is no chance of his team underestimating the opposition on Saturday.

"We expect a tough game, with a low score even though we have managed to beat them for the last six years in a row, it is never easy," he said.

Itembelihle have been on good form this season, seeing off John Walton and Arcadia High and coming within five points of Graeme College, so Dabalele says that confidence is high.

The fearless 1.60-metre, 65kg centre is in his second year in the first team and will look to lead from the front with some big hits in midfield this weekend.

"I love playing centre as it gets me more involved with the game, I love tackling," he explained.

According to the Itembelihle skipper, who has got his mind set on playing Varsity Cup for the NMMU Madibaz in the future, his team will look to play to their strengths and take the ball wide to try and run Ndzondelelo off their feet.

"We will play the open, running style of rugby that suits us.

"We have a very good backline and good loose forwards so we want to get them into the game," said Dabelele.
