Menlopark outrun St Albans
Menlopark ran in five tries on their way to a comfortable 40-17 victory over St Albans in Pretoria on Wednesday night.
Although the hosts were dwarfed up front by the imposing St Albans pack, their backline got the better of their opponents which saw them dominate out wide.
The Menlopark forwards worked hard to ensure parity in the tight exchanges, and it was the backline that shone under the lights.
Flank Justin Meintjies scored two of Menlopark's three first-half tries to give them a healthy 25-3 advantage at half-time, and they added a further two tries in the second half to seal the victory.
St Albans' replacement hooker got two tries of his own, but it was not enough to overhaul Menlopark who secured a comfortable win.
