Monnas at Glenwood

The two have not long been regular opponents, but could well remain so as the big rugby-playing schools look for opposition beyond the their established borders.

Both Glenwood and Monument feature high on the Schools Top 20 – Monnas third and Glenwood 10th after their slip-up against DHS last week, but in any case the difference between 3rd and 10th is not great in the context of the many rugby-playing schools in South Africa.

The match is a Premier Interschools and as such will be televised live.

Both are schools that take on the best in the land. Both have lost only two matches this year – Monument, somewhat surprisingly, to Eldoraigne and Boland Landbou, Glenwood to Paarl Boys' High and, somewhat surprisingly, DHS.

Monnas have played five schools ranked in the top 20, Glenwood three.

They have two opponents in common:

Dr EG Jansen: Glenwood won 24-19; Monument won 50-13

Garsfontein: Glenwood won 38-12; Monument won 45-21
