Muir beat valiant Westering

Match Report

Muir College of Uitenhage have been having a really good season and on Saturday made good use of opportunities in beating a valiant Westering High 45-12 in Uitenhage. At half-time Muir led 38-7.

Muir’s forwards paved the way for their team’s victory with some exciting interplay, but the backs scored all the seven tries.

Curtis Young helped himself to a hat-trick after clinical incursions into the backline. Phiwe Lalenle added a brace of tries and Wonke Mkonjeni and Angus Young made up the remainder

Brendan Meyer accounted for five conversions despite the unfavourable kicking conditions.

Westering’s points came from a try each by Gareth Stander and Chris McLean with Raymond Hamilton converting one.
