New chairman for SA Schools
Ingle was formerly the vice-chairman for the high schools and was elected unopposed at the annual general meeting of South African Schools Rugby Association held at Eastern Boulevard in Cape Town. Ingle takes over from Thys Bezuidenhout who is the principal of Bekker Primary School and is retiring at the end of this year.
In Ingle's place as the vice-chairman for high schools Katiso Mosioua of Border was elected, also unopposed.
Also retiring is Gerald Njengele of Zimasa Primary schools, whose father was one of the best scrumhalves for the Bantu Springboks when they first played Tests in the 1950s. He has been the vice-chairman for primary schools. His place is taken by Granville Josephs of De Villiers Primary in Oudtshoorn. Josephs has been on the executive since 2007.
There are three new members of the executive – Wikus Naudé of Hoërskool Generaal Hertzog in Witbank, Anton Smith of the Leopards Primary Schools and Kervin Grove, the principal of St Joseph's Marist College in Rondebosch, once a powerful rugby school in the Western Province. Naudé, who is moving to Hoërskool Hugenote in Wellington, is the new treasurer in the place of Jackie Tredoux of Hoërskool Tuine who is retiring after serving the executive since 2007. Smith and Grove are additional members of the executive.
The other members of the executive are Gerrit Rudolph of Oudtshoorn High School, Joshua du Plessis who is the principal of the Elandspark School principal, and José O'Brien, the chairman of Free State Primary Schools.
The meeting also chose the SA Schools selectors for 2016 and that committee remains almost unchanged. There is just one new member – Gerald Pyoos of Clifton College in Durban who takes the place Dennis Karelse who has emigrated to the United Arab Emirates.
