New Orleans struggle to win
With less possession, less territory and fewer opportunities New Orleans beat Klein Nederburg 17-13 in the tensest of FNB Classic Clashes.
For the second week in a row the stadium in Faure Street, Paarl, was packed. Everybody was excited; everybody backed a side with passion. The outcome was in doubt till the final whistle went, the crowd on the edges of their seats.
This is New Orleans's third successive win over Klein Nederburg. In the 13 matches this century, New Orleans have won eight times, Klein Nederburg five times.
Grant Fortuin of Klein Nederburg, the organiser of the event, said afterward: "Klein Nederburg had several opportunities to score points and win the match, but they used only few of their chances." Bad finishing robbed them of the victory.
