Nico Malan win again

Under lights at the Despatch Sports Festival Nico Malan of Humansdorp beat Daniël Pienaar of Uitenhage 25-18. It was a tough match.

At half-time Daniël Pienaar  led 6-3 although Nico Malan had played more of the rugby.

In the second half the Nico Malan forwards attacked with vigour, giving outside centre Selvin Davids two chances to score, which he took. He also succeeded with two conversions and two penalty goals for a total of 20 points. Gerhard Engelbrecht scored the other try.

In four matches Selvin Davids has scored 83 of his side's 150 points.

Nico Malan dominated the line-outs with JJ Killian again outstanding. The side scrummed well and had the better of breakdowns.

Nico Malan's 2nd XV beat Daniël Pienaar 3-0.

On Tuesday Nico Malan leaves for Durban and the Kearsney Easter Festival in which they play against Selborne (Thursday, Boland Landbou (Saturday) and Dr EG Jansen (Monday).
