North vs South in Pretoria

With one exception the southern teams triumphed. The exception was the hosts' victory over the Kwaggas of George.

The two Paarl schools, Boland Landbou and Gimmies, were the most impressive performers on the day. In both cases it was their backs who stood out – centres Henro Marais and JJ van Rensburg and centre Theo Boshoff and flyhalf Wian van Zyl of Gimmies. But wing Durin Nasson of Landbou profited most, scoring four tries.

Also outstanding was the Garsies' SA Schools scrumhalf, Embrose Papier, who actually hails from the Western Cape, born in Clanwilliam and in primary school in Darling. Garsies, too, have an outstanding centre in JP Duvenhage.
