Paarl Gim's U16 tournament
The tournament, which runs at the same time as the Under-14 tournament on the week before Easter has 26 powerful schools taking part with great matches from morning to nights.
There are eight strong rugby schools from the Western Province – Bellville, Boland Landbou, Brackenfell, Stellenberg, Paul Roos Gimnasium, Paarl Boys' High and Paarl Gimnasium. The other 15 schools come from relatively near and far – Oakdale of Riversdale and Outeniqua from George, two from the Eastern Cape – Marlow of Cradock and Framesby of Port Elizabeth, and the rest are from the north – Diamantveld of Kimberley, Potchefstroom Gimnasium which was the strongest of the Potchefstroom schools, last year, Nelspruit, Kempton Park, Monument of Krugersdorp, Rustenburg, Grey College of Bloemfontein, Dr EG Jansen of Boksburg, Michaelhouse of the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands and the powerful Pretoria contingent – Affies, Centurion, Garsfontein, Eldoraigne, Menlopark and Waterkloof.
The fixtures are so arranged that the teams do not play against sides that they would play in their regular season.
