Pacaltsdorp head to George
George will have the advantage as they were able to claim victory in 2014 at Pacaltsdorp and are eager to impress their home fans with another clinical display. Another factor working in their favour is the tough season their opponents have had.
Pacaltsdorp have yet to pick up a win in their season and their coach, Thagan Deal, remains hopeful they can end their season on a positive note.
"It has been quite hectic getting the boys prepared for this match. We placed a lot of focus on our set-pieces and everything looks good ahead of the match. We know it is going to be tough because they will have their fans behind them and also playing in George is not easy.
"There will definitely be pressure on us because the people of Pacaltsdorp wants us to win. The boys will be mentally ready but it is going to come down to their discipline. That has been the main area of concern for us throughout the season," Deal said.
His counterpart, Johan Bennett, has one thing on his mind and that is to make a statement that George is the best team in their league.
"We are ready for the match and I have already told the guys at Pacaltsdorp that we are ready. For us, we definitely have a point to prove and we want to make a statement in this match. We want to show everyone that we are the best team in our league.
"History also favours us because we won the previous two matches against them and we are eyeing a hat-trick of wins on Saturday," Bennett said.
There is definitely a friendly comradery between the schools but that disappears as soon as the teams step onto the field.
Regardless of the relationship between the sides, both will have a point to prove in this match and an exciting game of running rugby is definitely on the cards.
