Port Natal Night Series
It is summer in Durban, hot and humid, but already schools, like their seniors, are playing competitive rugby, mercifully at night.
Port Natal are the hoists and are proud at the way the Night Series is played: 'The annual Night Series has evolved over time from “winning at all cost” to a development tool coaches use to prepare their team for the upcoming rugby season. It must be noted that the Port Natal Night Series is a preseason tournament. These matches are essentially considered as "friendlies" or "warm-up" matches that consist of two 20 minute halves.'
The series kicked off on Friday, 13 February 2015 when both Port Natal sides were in action. Westville beat the Port Natal 1st XV 21-0. Port Natal 2nd XV beat Pinetown 24-0.
