It's been a long road to the Menlopark first XV for captain Bingle Cloete but he is there and is making the most of his opportunities.
A fullback at heart, Cloete was shifted into midfield by his coach this season and he seems to be getting a long really well in the centre position.
"I have played fullback my whole life but the coach moved me to centre this year so we could have a more physical presence in the centre.
"I am enjoying centre and it offers me a lot of different challenges," Cloete said.
His side take on St Albans in an FNB Classic Clash on Wednesday and without playing this last weekend Cloete is still positive about what they can get out of the game.
"We might not have played over the weekend but we did have Blue Bulls trails so the players are still fit and ready to go," he mentioned.
having a brother meant that Cloete got involved in rugby from an early age.
"I started playing rugby at the age of six and played at primary school with my brother and have not looked back since.
"It is definitely my favourite sport and I love the team environment that comes with rugby," Cloete mentioned.
It was a fairly tough start to the season for CLoete's chargers but as the season has worn on they have become better.
"We had a few slip-ups early in the season but recently we have been playing really well recently and got a good win against Eldoraigne.
"We won this game because we played to our strengths, our quick backs and our large frontrow are the areas we use to dominate other teams," he explained.
