Brandwag skipper Elandre van der Merwe knows his side will have to be on top of their game if they want to get revenge on Daniel Pienaar on Wednesday.
Daniel Pienaar beat Brandwag for the first time in five years last year, so Van der Merwe and his team will be looking to prove a point when they face their old rivals on home turf.
Van der Merwe will play in his usual position of No.8 against Daniel Pienaar, but the lanky loose forward is also comfortable at lock where he played for Eastern Province at Craven Week in Polokwane.
The Brandwag skipper came off the bench for the last two minutes of the defeat to Daniel Pienaar last year, and he is determined to taste victory against them again as he reaches the end of his high school career.
"You don't want to lose in front of your home crowd so we will need a big effort out there," he said.
Brandwag have suffered a few setbacks this week with both of their first-choice centres injured and SA Schools fullback Malcolm Jaer unavailable, but Van der Merwe believes his team will rise to the occassion.
"It will be tough but we have some pretty good depth. They have got a big forward pack and there is rain expected so we will have to be as physical as possible," he explained.
The Brandwag skipper will study Construction Economics at NMMU next year and hopes to play for NMMU in the Varsity Cup Young Guns competition, with his ultimate goal to get into the Kings academy.
