Punt heads to Ostrich country
The results between the sides could not have been closer, as matches over the previous 20 years or so have been settled by a margin of four points or less.
The sides have met on 23 previous occasions, with both claiming 11 victories and one match being played out to a draw. There is definitely not much separating these sides as the home team have claimed victories over the past two years.
With that in mind, you could say Langenhoven has the slight edge, however, Punt will have the psychological edge – based on their 2014 victory, although, they will need to find that extra bit of vigour if they are to claim a rare victory away from home.
"A close game can definitely be expected, especially when looking at the narrow margin of victories over the last few years. In terms of what can be expected with regards to the style of play, generally speaking, Interschools is not really decided on running rugby.
"To me, it will come down to whoever dominates at the rucks and executes their set-plays," Langenhoven coach Alewyn Vorster said.
Vorster continued by saying this fixture is more than just the schools playing sports against each other and that more emphasis is placed on building strong relationships with each other.
"There is a very friendly relationship between the schools and it is really more about the entertainment and building relationships through the various sporting codes," he added.
Be that as it may, the friendships will be put aside when the referee blows the whistle on matchday.
