Rondebosch beat SACS with late burst

Match Report

Rondebosch beat SACS 17-3 in Saturday's wintry sunshine.

SACS were leading traditional rivals Rondebosch by 3- 0 with about ten minutes remaining in their traditional fixture. Andrew Theron had slotted a penalty from bang in front having missed several other kickable attempts – for all money it appeared as if the homeside were home and dry.

Rondebosch however, had other ideas and scored three glorious tries in the final ten minutes – Wesley Chetty, Kyle Wickens and Matthew Cowan the try scorers with Marcel Brache converting just one.

That Rondebosch won 17-3 is a credit to their never-say-die attitude. SACS were left to reflect about what might have been!

SACS team: Stewart Buchanan, Ryan Halvorsen, Jarryd Harris, Andrew Theron, Roland Heidemann, Jody Kriel, Mark Spence, Che Arenz, Khotso Micha, David Brits, Freddy Liesner, Jacques van der Vyver, Kieran Snellink, Sizwe Stemele, Imraan Deaney (captain)
